The Dawn and Hawkes Family Trio

Dawn and Hawkes Concert

at Lakeshore Park

Tuesday, July 23, 6:30-8:30 pm

Join us for an evening of community filled with the musical talents of the

Dawn and Hawkes Family Trio

Austin sweethearts, Dawn and Hawkes, return with their family trio featuring Miranda Dawn's dad,

Chico Oropeza, on drums and mandolin.

Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes formed Dawn and Hawkes after a chance meeting on an Austin dance floor. The first time they sang together they found a sound Texas Monthly calls “undeniably intimate”. Their initial duo effort, Golden Heart, climbed to No. 25 in Billboard’s Folk chart and landed at No. 2 in iTunes singer-songwriter albums kicking off a whirlwind of cross-country and international touring, and original albums.

Acoustic Guitar hails their musicality as “Impeccable vocal harmonies and instrumentation” while The Austin American Statesman describes their songs as “sweet folk-rock – instantly appealing tunes – rooted in the singer songwriter heyday of the early 1970’s, they also fit well into the modern-day indie-folk revival” and Huffington Post summarizes “Transcendent alternative-folk — you will find yourself craving more from this amazing, dynamic duo.”

The newest album from Dawn and Hawkes, Light Inside, is illuminated by the warm glow of family homes, old guitars, familiar stories, new infatuation and loyal, long-standing love. It's an invitation to embrace the light that comes from all of us.

Chico Oropeza has been a touring musician for four decades. Playing drums with Colorado bands and Texas icons like Miss Lavelle White, The Derailers, Ponty Bone, The Tailgators, Chico plays with a wide variety of rock, reggae, zydeco, and even steel drum bands.

Chico is to thank for Miranda growing up immersed in the rhythm and melody of live music. It's a special family inspired experience to see Dawn and Hawkes with this trio.

In a time when the world seems more divided than ever, Dawn and Hawkes celebrate hope and our common humanity.

Located at the Lakeshore Park in the Pinery, Parker CO. This is an event to benefit local charities supported by Beyond the Mat Yoga Collective. We will have a silent auction with donations from local businesses.
